Three Times More People Killed At Southern Border In Last 6 Months Than Iraq And Afghanistan Combined

It amazes me that when it comes to wars you will get a massive amount of people to come out and declare that we must "end the killing". All kinds of wackos and hippies and even a few actual intellectual people who do have a thought out argument or other course of action show up (though the intellectuals are few and far between). Yet in the past 6 months more than the people have been killed along our southern border than service-members in both Iraq and Afghanistan combined

Where are the protests? Where is the outrage? Where are the hippies with their little drums?

Nowhere that's where, because they don't really care about death, they only care about their agenda. These people are no better than politicians who would sell out their country for votes, money and power. They only actively protest when there's something in it for them. You see it's all about "me" when it comes to them. A by-product of the "Me Generation" where they can sit around and feel good about themselves that they are doing something. Not that they actually accomplished anything. Yet they ignore other, even greater, problems.

While they whine about Darfur and global warming there are innocent people within a few hundred to a thousand miles (and sometimes even much closer) of them being raped murdered and oppressed. Yet when it all comes down to it, when people actually want to do something to end the attrocities, they decry the decisions that must be made to set things right and proper.

They would be the first to cry about military intervention in Darfur, thinking that talking will work. They decry a deployment or increase in actual trained troops along our borders to protect us and end cross border actions by the drug cartels. In some deluded way they seem to think that problems will fix themselves because they say they should be fixed.

You can watch Representative Brian Bilbray in this entry on the Aldrete-Davila sentencing where towards then end he points out the facts. That our Southern Border is a warzone and nobody seems concerned about it.

Where are the hippies?

Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila Receives Less Time Than Ramos And Compean [Video]

Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, the illegal alien drug smuggler who testified against border patrol agents Ramos and Compean, was sentenced today. In this clip Congressmen Dana Rohrabacher and Brian Bilbray talk about the sentence and once again challenge the President to pardon the agents and call for Obama and McCain to commit to pardoning them if elected.

It's amazing that a multiple time career drug smuggler and illegal alien gets less of a sentence than two agents trying to stop him.

Brian Bilbray points out that there have been more deaths along our southern border in the past 6 months than in the entire Iraq and Afghanistan wars combined.

"We're talking about a battle zone down there at the border. Do you realize that three times more people have been killed by the drug cartel in the last six-months than all the men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan combined"

I agree with Dana Rohrabacher who states at the end of the segment "This whole thing stinks". That sums it up in a nutshell.

Bush's Buddy, Illegal Alien Murderer Jose Ernesto Medellin, To Be Executed Within Hours

Jose Ernesto Medellin
Jose Ernesto Medellin,
Rapist and Murderer
Dirtball Jose Ernesto Medellin, an illegal alien murderer who participated in the gang rape, strangling and murder of two girls in Texas in 1993, is scheduled to be executed anytime between now and midnight.

I am not excited by this. I am happy he is facing justice and will be put to death, but it is an outrage that it has taken 15 years. Medellin confessed to the rapes and murders and to stomping on their necks. He was also found to have one of the girls Mickey Mouse watches in his possession.

Years later he tried to play the "poor illegal alien" card after going through trial and being convicted and sentenced to death with no defense of being a foreign national or requesting consulate help at the time. More than a decade later he comes out claiming he didn't receive help from the consulate which neither he, his attorney, nor family asked for. He was tried assuming he was an American citizen.

The World Court and President Bush have come down on the side of this vicious murdering thug. If there ever was any absolute doubt that President Bush cares more about Mexico than Americans this is the case.

The father of Jennifer Ertman, one of the murdered girls, was outraged that President Bush lied to him face to face.

Ertman shook Bush's hand when he was running for president, asking him if he remembered the girls and if he would keep their killers on death row. Bush said he would keep them on death row, Ertman said.

"He shook my hand and lied," Ertman said.

The Supreme Court ruled that Texas could go ahead with the execution in March, 2008.

William Jefferson Cornered Asked What's The Best Way To Stuff $90,000 In Your Freezer [Video]

I laughed and laughed! You remember Congressman William Jefferson who was caught in a 2005 sting on tape accepting a cash bribe? The FBI raided and found $90,000 stuffed in his freezer. Jefferson is still on Capitol Hill, and even got re-elected. Such is the love for corruption the people of Louisiana have for their politicians.

Well Jason Mattera of the Young America’s Foundation - in conjunction with Hot Air - confronted William Jefferson and asked him the most relevant question at hand in the halls of this "ethical" Congress. This really has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with outright bribery and corruption.

Black In America - How The Media Keeps Us Divided For Greed

No I didn't watch "Black in America" on CNN and I was disgusted every time I had to see a commercial for it for two months prior to its showing while I was watching Lou Dobbs. Some of La Shawn Barber's readers did watch it however and the overall prevailing opinion was that it basically said to any blacks watching that "it's all bad and everything is against you". It was negative and provided no real solutions to the problems they posed.

Which of course is their point. For any of you out there thinking that CNN was doing the "Black In America" show for the benefit of the Americans who happen to be Black, then you are missing the big picture.

Why did they do it then? For greed and money.

Do you think they sat around a table discussing this show in the context of positives other than for themselves? For the "reporters" it was all about getting face time and looking like they were investigative and concerned. For the parent company it was all about a targeted market for advertising. "We can really sell some black targeted advertising during this show and if we over-hype it we can charge more!". For those interviewed they get their 15-minutes of fame. See everybody wins! Except Black Americans.

This is going on throughout the media in the form of Telemundo, Black Entertainment Television (BET) and the host of other "You are different" and "we're like you" television stations. But to my readers out there don't be fooled. For every one of these ventures there is a business plan that goes along with it. In that business plan is the fact that they can target focus the advertising to a niche consumer and charge more. Not a single one of these stations has your best interests at heart, they only see you as a statistic and consumer.

The most tragic thing is that, in the end, they don't want to help you succeed. They want you to think of yourself as a part of a group and to perpetuate that. The first time you think of yourself as an American and not a "specialgroup-American" is the moment they lose you as a targeted consumer.

Think about it. Why else would a business - which is what they are - want you not to fit in?

As commenter Mark La Roi said over on La Shawn barber's post: "I’m pretty sick of being 'Black in America'. I wish I could just be American."

Mexican Military Crosses Border Holds US BP Agent At Gunpoint

Par for the course.

Mexican incursions on US land is increasingly becoming quite common. They seem to come here when they want and do what they want and there are no repercussions. Our government has no balls. It will continue going on until there are actual consequences.

Now though they have decided that holding our law enforcement agents at gunpoint on our soil is perfectly OK.

National Border Patrol Council - Local 2544

A Tucson Sector Border Patrol agent was held at gunpoint by the Mexican military last night south of Ajo. Mexican military personnel crossed over the border and pointed rifles at him. Backup units arrived from the Ajo Border Patrol station, and the Mexican military personnel eventually returned to Mexico.

Unfortunately, this sort of behavior by Mexican military personnel has been going on for years. They are never held accountable, and the United States government will undoubtedly brush this off as another case of "Oh well, they didn't know they were in the United States." A few years ago the Mexican military went a step further and put a .50 calibre rifle round through the rear window of a Border Patrol agent's patrol vehicle south of Ajo. Nothing was ever done. Nobody was ever held accountable.

Particularly galling is the fact that the Mexican military often pulls these stunts in Humvees donated to them by the American taxpayers (although they were apparently on foot this time). We note that Border Patrol agents have historically driven worn-out, junk vehicles.

I have no further comment.

Tipped by: Reader Lone Wolf

Other Commentary:

Freedom Folks who say it's time to get mad. If you're not angry yet, you're stuck in a bubble while things are crumbling around you. They also point out several other cases of incursions.

America - Horse With No Name - Rambling Thoughts

So I was sitting here and I can't remember why, but started thinking about the song Horse With No Name and decided to look it up on You Tube. The video is below. I've always thought it was a cool song and didn't know why, so I decided to have a listen. There were a couple of interesting things I noted (and no there's no deeper meaning to this post, just some ramblings like my post on Ang-Land).

Basically it seems a song describing the desert, and it is. What I found interesting when thinking about it though was why you wouldn't name a horse. The only thing I could conclude is that you didn't expect it to live. People tend not to name things that will die because it is more personal. It's like naming a chicken in your farm that you intend to later eat. So he probably didn't name it because he expected death. Which leads me to believe it wasn't just a planned trip across the desert, or it was a planned trip that went wrong. And indeed, in the song, he says that on the ninth day he let the horse run free.

Another thing of note is the absolutely fabulous comparative lyrics between the desert and the ocean. I found it actually profound.

The ocean is a desert with its life underground

Having been in the middle of the ocean on a ship with nothing around, this lyric is amazing.

Apparently someone was smoking some Marijuana when writing this song - and I wasn't when analyzing it... but I still found that comparison very cool.

Obama Would End Affirmative Action - My Take On Race Preference

I was watching MSNBC today between 2 and 3PM and they had a segment on the news about Obama's stance on Affirmative Action. It was on the general news hour and not a hosted show so it would probably be nearly impossible to track it down and capture it. During the segment they mentioned that Obama has said that his daughters should not receive preferential treatment since they can afford college. That they should not be given preference over, say, a poor white kid.

The most shocking thing about the news segment was a black female New York Times reporter that came on to talk about it. She recounted his statement and mentioned that Obama therefore is taking a "class" approach to preferential treatment and then looked into the camera with absolute amazement and a little annoyance and said "he would end race preference".

Now let me ask you to think about those two words for a minute. Race. Preference. Now think about the time when there was slavery. What was going on there? Race. Preference.

So many times it has been thrown in our faces that Race Preference is wrong. That those who were white and owned slaves were wrong. How it disenfranchised black families even later. And there's no doubt that immediately afterwards there was.

martin-luther-king-jr.jpg
Two people revered in America - and almost worshiped in the black community - were highly opposed to race preference. Martin Luther King Jr. talked of content of character and not color of skin. As for Lincoln, well freeing the slaves is enough. These same people who look up to these men as heroes are pushing to keep race preference in place.

To these people it doesn't matter if a black family are multi-millionaires and can afford college, their children should still be given preference over some struggling, poor white child.

I am all for giving people a helping hand. I am all for the safety net of basic welfare. The problem comes when it is exploited and grows to such a size as it has today. When it is being abused. When people are using it because it is there and not because they need it, thus denying someone who does a chance.

We need to end race preference in this country and reward those who are simply hard working citizens and legal residents. Will Obama push for this, or was hsi statement about his daughters all just for show and for the polls that show that 88% of Americans are opposed to race based benefits (yes, they mentioned that stat on the show as well).

Getting Started Blogging - Notes From My Radio Interview Today

As I mentioned today on the radio show Last Americans Standing, blogging isn't hard if you know where to go to get started. Below are some reference links on the places I mentioned today.

So I'm live blogging my interview and adding things below as we go along. (ok so some of it was pre-prepared a few minutes before broadcast)

(Update: There's a full archive of the show now at Republic Broadcasting Network it's August 3, 2008 hour one and two)

Starting a blog.
You can use these simple solutions.
Blogger is free.
Wordpress - costs a little monthly, but is easy to setup with a few clicks and has many themes and web layouts.

Register a domain name.
It's cheap but worth it. Pick something short, memorable and to the point.
Go Daddy - to register a domain name, very cheap somewhere around $9 a year. They have hosting as well, so you might want to check that out. I have heard some bad stories in the past about downtime, but they may have cleared that up since it was several years ago.

Get a free email address for your website
I'd highly suggest you create an email address solely just for your website use.
Gmail is my recommended choice since it's easy to use and can be accessed via the web no matter where you are or if you change your ISP in the future. use something like websitename@gmail.com

Allow people to receive excerpts of your posts via email.
Feedblitz - This service is free and takes your RSS feed (automatically generated by your blogging software as you post stuff) and emails it to subscribers.

See where your visitors are coming from.
From physical location to what websites they came from and what they are reading.
Site Meter - Simple and easy, the blogging standard.
Google Analytics - More complex and powerful, but confusing if you don't know what you're looking for.

Grammar and spelling
I recommend using Firefox as a browser (it's free) because it has a built in spell-check for forms. You can also install Google Toolbar which has some nice functionality for spelling.

Jake recommends:
Technorati Tags
Scribefire for Firefox

Update - callers

Renee from American Truckers at War called in. Great Name! Come up with a name that is relevant to your topic.

---

Georgia from Tennessee called in and discussed how her site We The People of America is covering her local 287(g) implementation and how they are trying to force the issue! Georgia mentioned YouTube and how she is using it for video of local events. Great idea and YouTube is actually very easy to use. Visit their YouTube page WTPOA

---

I recalled the Congressman Nunes affair and how breaking a story in blogging works. If you'd like to read this story on how a Congressman was forced to sign a bill to pardon Agents Ramos and Compean due to public outrage, you can read it here: "How Bloggers And American Citizens Are Changing America".

---

Culturist John called in from Culturism and pointed out that blogging doesn't need to be boring, it can be fun! I also point out that there are many bloggers that only post once a week, but are so well thought out and respected that everyone links to them week after week. Good to hear from John!!

---

Maggie called in from Pennsylvania and pointed out there is a need to have people report on good congressmen in your area opposed to amnesty. Great idea. All of you out there get to it! 12 million illegals? The MSM has been reporting 12 million for as long as I can remember. What's the real number?

---

Allan One Old Vet called in and warned against fabricating stories. Check your facts! Your credibility is at stake. You ruin it once and you're done.

---

Rhonda from Texas points out not to be intimidated by the machine and the Internet. Being over 40 she finds using it and commenting on blogs as no harder than using Microsoft Word. Don't be scared! Speak out.

---

Wendy in Pennsylvania, a contributor to PA Pundits, mentions Windows Live Writer and that it's easy to use. I have never used it, but Wendy says it is very easy and does Technorati tags etc automatically.
