When you attack someone as friendly as the Australian people you've seriously got something wrong with you. I mean come on how can you hate a country like Australia? Friendliest people on earth (I've been there twice and don't think I've bought my own beer once).
Not that we didn't already know the terrorists were freaks. After the Bali (another great place, been there once) bombing and one of the Bali bombers latest jaunts to Starbucks we now have a terrorist attack on our mates embassy in Jakarta.

AT least eleven people have been killed and up to 160 are wounded after an apparent terrorist attack on the Australian embassy in Jakarta.
Australian embassy staff escaped relatively unscathed in the suspected suicide attack, which ripped apart the heavily-fortified gates of the mission, shattered thousands of windows and left a deep crater in the road outside.
Instead those killed were mainly Indonesians, including police and embassy security staff, cut down in the road by the explosion just four metres from the front gates of the compound.
There's a lot going around about the political ramifications of this in the "land down under" as well as the upcoming Indonesian elections.
Chrenkoff, Down Under has excellent coverage, reasoning and the political impacts.
The current group being blamed is an al-Qaeda linked group Jemaah Islamiyah. There are photos from the Sydney Morning Herald. The "blogosphere" (ugh, the name) is really on this one. Check out some of these comments and predictions.
Tim Blair is live blogging, with 21 updates since I last checked. Little Green Footballs with massive amounts of comments. Six Meat Puppet is predicting an October attack here. Right On Red sees it as a possible foretelling of attacks to come.
