This creep named Shamil Basayev, a Chechen Warlord, came out of hiding long enough to claim responsibility not only for the Beslan school attack in Russia, but also for the airplane suicide bombing outside Moscow in August and several other bomb attacks in Moscow.
If anything Palestine has left us this legacy because they have been making their case for statehood the same way for decades and have demanded attention. Now we see this same tactic being used by the Chechens in order to secure their own independent state. This is what comes about when appeasement is used, the means of forcing the appeasement's spreads elsewhere. Now we all must suffer because of other countries and international bodies actions (or inaction's).

Chechen warlord Shamil Basayev claimed responsibility on Friday for the Russian school siege in which more than 320 hostages were killed, half of them children, and threatened further attacks by any means he saw fit.
Basayev, Russia's most wanted man, expressed regret for the bloody outcome in Beslan, which he blamed on the Kremlin. But he made clear there would be no let-up in rebel attacks in the future in the campaign for an independent Chechnya.
"We are not bound by any circumstances, or to anybody, and we will continue to fight as is convenient and advantageous to us, and by our rules," he said in an unrepentant statement published on a rebel Web site.

Basayev also confirmed Russian suspicions that his group had masterminded suicide bomb blasts that brought down two passenger planes over Russia on August 24 with the deaths of 90 people and two other bomb attacks in Moscow.
Expressed regret for the bloodshed? What did he expect to happen? Hand holding and some nice gospel singing?
