At least the human and civil rights people are happy.
Washington Times
At least seven former prisoners of the United States at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, have returned to terrorism, despite gaining their freedom by signing pledges to renounce violence.
All they had to do was sign some pledge? WTF!
The Pentagon did not identify the seven detainees believed to have returned to fighting, although a few names have been made public. One released detainee killed a judge leaving a mosque in Afghanistan, Cmdr. Plexico said.
I feel for the judges family.
The former prisoners who returned to terrorism include Abdullah Mehsud, a former Guantanamo Bay detainee linked to al Qaeda who oversaw the recent kidnapping of two Chinese engineers, one of whom was killed.
So all Bin Laden or Zarqawi have to do is sign a pledge and they're free to go.
One of the two former prisoners killed is Maulvi Abdul Ghaffar, a senior Taliban commander in northern Afghanistan who was arrested about two months after a U.S.-led coalition drove the militia from power in late 2001.
He was held at Guantanamo for eight months, then released, and was killed on Sept. 26 by Afghan security forces during a raid in Uruzgan province. Afghan leaders said they believed he was leading Taliban forces in the southern province.
There's human rights and then there's a
Senior Taliban Commander of an enemy force. You
do not let people like that out of prison. Sometimes you have to be hard nosed, of course the peace hippies would just let them all out of Guantanamo Bay.
Tip: Right on Red.
What would one expect from a country full of bleeding hearts. The Liberals can't even be totally blamed for this one! Both parties and those who wouldn't claim a partisanship have whiners who always put "Prisoner's Rights" ahead of the Rights of their Victums. That's the way it is and has been for the last 40 years or so. It has become popular to champion "Prisoner's Rights" because like immigration, nobody usually does much about it.
Only in high profile deals like "Gitmo" does much happen, and in that place, actually, they should just Shoot all of them, period! Costs too much to keep 'em, can't turn 'em loose to go anywhere they won't pick up an AK-47 and do it all again . . . No matter what they say.
Someplace in the Koran it has to say "Thou Shalt Not Lie" . . Well that's one rule those "Religious Fanatics" missed! Or at least choose to ignore. so let's treat 'em that way. Just Discontinue them, or keep 'em in a box till they die of old age! Actually the last thing is what none of them want, a quiet, monotonious, life ending in complete anonoymity, no martyardom, no sacrifice, Nada, just sit there till you die of old age.

Hey Large, I agree, but then LOOK at what these people have proven capable of doing? After the beheadings etc., a LIE sure won't bother them.
AND, now there's a group out there sending pictures of themselves to the Iraqi people APOLOGIZING for our insensitivity and not allowing them to go on being the "Sovereign Nation" they were before WE, insufferable bastards that we are, came in, deposed a MURDERER and gave them their Freedom. I'm SO ashamed of America (not)... Geez, do these idiots not have ANY common sense?
The way they've pressured the gov't to "give the prisoners their rights" (what rights? they're not citizens here, but would kill us all if they could); and we need to be sensitive to their needs: tell that to the military families whose children were killed, or the Hensley's....
Boy, I know it takes all kinds, but these "sensitives" I could do without. I'm watching for a bumper sticker that says "Have you hugged a terrorist today? "
