Tom over at Anti-Hero found this strange quote by George H.W. Bush.
"I don't know that atheists should be considered citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."-- George H.W. Bush
What the hell kind of statement is that? As most of you know I'm a Bush supporter, but that statement by his father is just idiotic.
Now Tom has shied away from voting for either candidate and has some more thought provoking comments as well. Go take a quick a read on an atheists viewpoint on things. He has a hilarious photoshopped pic on there of Bush as well.

You Know, Digger . . If we could just get Abortion, and Religion out of our politics and keep 'em on th' wall (In God We Trust!) where they belong, our Government wouldn't have to deal with so Damned much "Emotionalism" and the "Knee Jerk" Rhetoric that it brings!

Digger, I did a google search on that quote and I can't find ANYTHING on it except rather spotty left-wing sites and atheist sites. Encarta has it but I'm not a subscriber - on their front page, no context is provided. What was the context? Had he really said anything like this, don't you think I'd have found a New York Times reference to it, or Washington Post, or something? The majority of hits came from message boards. Sounds like an urban myth to me. I'll recant if someone will show me a citation; I could find nothing on when he supposedly said it or where or in what context.

Well here's the guy who suppposedly did the interview where Bush the first said it.

Seems he's waiting for the documents from the Bush library. However he acknowledges there was no taping of the interview, so it would simply be a document and I'm sure that's not enough evidence to ever really prove he said it for most people. Especially since this guy seems to be a hardcore liberal.
