Wassef Ali Hassoun, the Marine who
disappeared in Iraq and was thought kidnapped only to show up in Lebanon has been added to the
NCIS most wanted list.
Herald Sun
Federal officials this week placed missing Marine Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun on a list of "most wanted" fugitives, days after the alleged deserter disappeared for a second time.
Hassoun's mug shot now appears on a Navy criminal justice Web site, which claims the missing corporal now uses the alias "Jafar."

News reports, citing unidentified Pentagon and Marine sources, cited a paper trail of bank receipts suggesting Hassoun traveled to Canada, then to Lebanon, which does not have an extradition treaty with the United States.
When he failed to arrive by Jan. 5, Hassoun was declared a deserter for a second time. His placement on the NCIS list puts him among a select group of fugitives, some of whom are being hunted on allegations of terrorism, murder, conspiracy to commit murder, indecent assault and rape.
