Canyon County Officials have called on the Governor of Idaho, Dirk Kempthorne, to declare a state of emergency in the area because of the influx of illegal aliens.

The idea comes from Canyon County Commission Robert Vasquez, who has become widely known for his hard-line stance against immigration.
Earlier this week, Vasquez announced his intention to make the request. Another commissioner appears to have joined him.
Vasquez claims a new guide sets the stage for an imminent invasion of illegal aliens into the United States and Idaho.
Note that Vasquez is not against immigration as stated, he is against
illegal aliens. Big difference.
In April, 2004 Robert Vasquez also attempted to bill Mexico $2 million dollars for costs the taxpayers had incured due to illegal aliens.
KBCI (April 2004)
That is why Vasquez today showed off a $2 million bill he is sending to the Mexican consulate in Salt Lake City. Vasquez says Canyon county has tallied up $1.4 million in housing illegal aliens in the county jail, and $575,000 on welfare services for illegal aliens over the last two years. "The reality is we are securing the borders of Iraq but we are not securing the borders of the United States, that is the reality..."
Digger, I am discouraged. Do you thing any one up there in "Babylon On The Potomic" will ever DO anything to address this crisis?
What can we do when BOTH political parties choose to ignor this threat?

What we should have is a shoot-on-sight policy that would serve as a warning to any illegal invader trying to come here illegally. I can't believe practically nobody is doing anything about this!
