Before anyone jumps the gun and starts crying Nazi let's take a look at what Germany has been doing with Jewish immigration. In 1990 the Jewish population number 30,000 and was mostly aged, so Helmet Kohl threw open the doors and allowed Jews to flood into the country, generally unabated. Since 1991, 190,000 Jews have migrated to Germany from the former USSR. Israel view on this is not a happy one, wanting Jews to come to Israel rather then going to Germany.
Any country that just allows anyone in without somehow expecting them to contribute to their society is foolish in my opinion. You're just inviting the poor, infirmed, lazy and unskilled to come and enjoy all of your benefits without contributing to the system. Germany basically wants to integrate the new Jewish immigrants into society requiring them to learn the language and provide a skill. I see nothing wrong with this and wish the U.S. would impose the same requirements.

The German parliament's Home Affairs Committee said on Wednesday that Jewish immigration from the former Soviet Union should continue, but urged de facto limits by calling for migrants to undergo German language tests and checks on their employment qualities.
Dieter Wiefelspuetz, the committee spokesman from Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder's Social Democrats (SPD), said that in the future there would have to be a stronger emphasis on integration for Jews arriving in Germany.
"There should still be Jewish immigrants in the future," he said.
I have to agree with them on this one, although initially when I saw the story I jumped to the racism conclusion right away.
