The Foster-Miller Company) are being deployed to Iraq. These robots have been used previously in Bosnia and Afghanistan as well as for recovery missions at the World Trade Center after 9/11.

The American military is planning to deploy robots armed with machine guns to wage war against insurgents in Iraq.
Eighteen of the one-metre-high robots, which are equipped with cameras and operated by remote control, will be sent to Iraq in the next few weeks.

The new robots are armed with standard American assault rifles and can negotiate obstacles such as rubble and barbed wire.
