The saga of Italian journalist Giuliana Sgrena continues. Just days after a terrorist group
claimed to have executed her, her employer,
Il Manifesto, now says it has contact through a third party who has seen her multiple times. The exact group that is holding her is still unknown as there have been
claims made by several groups. The paper described the terrorist group holding her as the "Sunni resistance", not by a specific groups name.

The newspaper that employs an Italian journalist held hostage in Iraq said Wednesday that it has indications she is alive and that intelligence officials have established indirect contact with the kidnappers.
Il Manifesto said an unspecified contact person had been able to see Sgrena twice, Monday and Tuesday, and reported that she was well. The paper said the person could be used as a mediator in future communications with Sgrena's kidnappers.
