Last weeks poll was "Should Effigy's Hanging From Houses Be Banned As A Hate Crime?"
The results of the poll are in:
Nearly 60% felt that effigy's were hate crimes. I'm sure the results of the poll would be significantly different if the effigy was specified. For instance what if the effigy was of a black person or a Jew? Would it then be viewed as a hate crime? If the effigy was of a soldier, lawyer or doctor would it make a difference? In my opinion singling out any specific group is a hate crime whether it is based on race, profession or age.
