(Salem, Oregon) On Tuesday, it was reported that a dozen girls at Waldo Middle School - some as young as 12 - were involved with trading sex for methamphetamine. Apparently, that story was an overreaction.
It is now being reported that only four girls allegedly were involved and there has been no clear evidence of sexual intercourse. However, touching and petting activities with men during the weekend and evenings are suspected and being investigated.
Earlier reports by Portland television stations were based on sketchy information provided by the statements of one girl. According to Salem-Keizer School District spokeswoman Mary Paulson, school administrators have not received any complaints nor information concerning students using drugs or trading sex for drugs.
