The Minuteman Project is planning a patrol along the Texas border, potentially in October. The logistics will be more complex due to so much private land owned along the border and the dangerous drug cartels in the region.

... the same reports of drug violence that have scared some tourists away from the South Texas region have become a concern for the Minutemen.
"The Texas border is pretty dangerous right now," Simcox said. That won't scare the Arizona-based citizen patrols away, he said, but it does mean they will be more careful in planning their operations, which might even include efforts to disrupt the flow of drugs.
"Security becomes a serious issue because we are going to be annoying a lot of people," including leaders of the drug cartels, Simcox said.

The Minuteman Project is nothing but a bunch of racist red necks that are looking for any excuse to fondle their "guns."
In 1977 the KKK announced plans to patrol and apprehend Mexican looking individuals at the US/Mexico border along the California/Mexican border.
These are racist that are using a perfectly legitimate issue to spew hate towards Hispanics, grouping Hispanics/Illegal Immigrants with Terrorists.

The US/Mexican border needs to be sealed, until the U.S. has an open public debate on the issue, and can sensibly decide the future of alien immigration.
People who cry racism in response to American's taking issue with their nation's lack of border security or its failure to enforce its own immigration laws, as in the above comment, are either ignorant of it's negative consequences, or are sympathetic to them.
But the fact is that unchecked illegal immigration is currently subverting the society, culture, and very laws of the U.S.
People who cry racism usually will also cry exploitation, instead of properly examining the level of corruption in Mexican society, and the negative effects this internal problem creates on economic opportunity.
We must seal the border while holding an open discussion and debate among the American citicenry about the what the future of alien immigration will be. Further, we must institute a Mexico policy that will seek as its ultimate goal a Mexico free from its current endemic levels of corruption. This policy would also seek to create a Mexico that works to ensure the welfare of its own citizens, rather than working to export them to another country, and benefit from their remittances.

It really pleases me when groups like "the minutemen project" start preaching to instill fear to the people by using phrases like ILLEGALS are invading or ILLEGALS are going to leave their offspring in America and multiply or my favorite, ILLEGAL ALIENS are going to be the dominent population in twenty one years and if we don't do something about it they will infiltrate to our political system and way of life and just ruin our quality of life by speaking 100 languages and bring corruption and wrath and give a bad name to the melting pot. Why is it that 99% of these statements and remarks are comming from white people, you do not see African Americans, oriental,middle eastern,Indian,Islanders instilling this fear. The fact of the matter is that hispanics along with the other ethnic groups I mentioned WILL be the dominent population in years to come and it warms my heart that it angers many anti-immigration groups! So just remember I am not ignorent, I'm sympathetic to the hard working, tax paying,risk takers, brave people that will do anything to better their sons and daughters life even if takes breaking a law. And I pray for their safety every day and ask THE VIRGIN MARY to keep them away from danger and mean people that want to catch them and send them back!

How would you know these comments are coming from White People? You got black people thinking the same thing. Whites, sadly will always get that label. Its just a truth. When all esle fails, call them racists! Works all the time right?? You oughta call the mexican police racist as well. I have had expierence from bitter old women in mexico being racist to me. Whats that? We do nothing but financially aid mexico in all ways. Tourism, allowing mexicans here on visas to work, so they can send money back. Sadly, mexicans will never be a rich people either. Yes, Iam black. Look at name.....PENDEJOS!

I TOTALY AGREE WITH MINUTEMAN PROJECT, THERE ARE NOT RACIST JUST WANT TO IMPLY LAW.
IF THERE IS NO LAW THERE IS NO DEMOCRACY.
AND MANY PEOPLE SHOUL LOOK DEEPER IN THE ISSUE NAT DESRIBING IT AS A RASIST BECOUSE IS NOT.
500 YEARS AGO SPANISH BEGUN A MASSIVE JENOCIDE OVER THE AZTEC PEOPLE THAT MELTED INDIANS IN WHAT NOW WE CALL MEXICANS, 62 PERCENT OF THEM PLUS 12 PERCENT OF WHITE MEXICANS.
MEXICO WANT TO CONTINUE THIS POLICY OF GENOCIDE BY ATHER MEANS, EXPELING POOR INDIANS NORTH, USING NATURAL SOCIAL-ECONOMIC TENDENCIES TO ACHIEV THAT GOAL, AND BLACKMAILNG AMERICAN POLITICS, USING HUMAN RIGTHS ISSUE TO CONCEAL THIER REAL GOAL.
