Michael Ross, a serial killer of at least 8 women, was put to death by lethal injection this morning. Ross was the first person executed in Connecticut since 1960. As usual there were a bunch of stupid people saying "keep him alive" as if he was some kind of saint who wouldn't hesitate in killing them the first chance he got.
I really wish we had an "adopt a killer" program where these people who feel so bad for them had to take them home and provide all the care for them and ensure they never escaped. After a few of them were killed by their "houseguests" maybe their opinion would change. Don't even get me started on keeping child molesters alive...

Ross, who spent months telling judges and psychiatrists that he was giving up his appeals to spare his victims' families the pain of more appeals, offered no final words. He was pronounced dead at 2:25 a.m.
Ross opted not to have a special last meal and spent much of his final day talking with visitors as attorneys beat back several last-minute appeals filed against his wishes. The U.S. Supreme Court turned away the last of those efforts at 11 p.m., leaving Ross as the only one left to save his own life.

"Today is a day no one truly looked forward to [speak for yourself - Digger], but then no one looked forward to the brutal, heinous deaths of those eight young girls," Gov. M. Jodi Rell said. "I hope that there is at least some measure of relief and closure for their families."
Ross' arrest in 1984 ended a three-year spree of attacks on women that stretched from Connecticut to New York, North Carolina, Illinois, and Ohio. He raped most of his victims and killed eight, including six in Connecticut.
