Initially upon hearing the news that "Deep Throat" was revealed I was like "cool!" then a minute later after seeing the old guy on TV I was like "who gives a fuck". If you really care to read more on this, James Joyer at Outside the Beltway has some good entries on the release and peoples predicitions of who it was here and here. Rusty of The Jawa Report was pretty unenthused as well.
The Political Teen has video of his grandson making a statement for the old man.

Boy, you must really have to work to show how shallow you are. I'm sorry you can't summon up energy to be concerned about anything that happened more than ten minutes ago, but FYI Deep Throat was a big deal, because it led of course to Watergate which led to Nixon resigning which led (Henry Hyde recently admitted) to Clinton's impeachment, which led to Bush being elected, which led....
Things that happened in the past affect you even though you may think the world started when you were born.

Well sure, but "Deep Throat" has been ongoing for so long that it is nearly irrelevant at this point as to who it really was, other than to sell books and maybe make another movie. It's neat to know who it is now, but it's really a non-story.

This is big, very big. We are reminded, again, of the basic REpublican love for power, unbalanced, out of control, without limits.
Nixon and his cronies, minions and dwarves almost destroyed the Constitution. Deep Throat, the WP and Woodward and Bernstein stopped him.
This will remind people, yet again, that the only good Repuke is a dead one.

What is the big deal? People have been speculating about Deep Throat's identity since before I was born. Finally learning his identity is a bit like finding a hunk of wood in the treasure chest you spent your whole life looking for.

No kidding. This guy is as shallow as the gene pool in the Red states; in fact, the gene pool there isn't even damp on the bottom anymore.
Asteroid from space? Oh, that's so been done; just ask the Republic.... er.. the dinosaurs. Yawn.
