Updating a previous report about the plane crash in Greece, Cypriot police raided the offices of Helios Airways to search for evidence of a "possible criminal offence" (sic). Apparently, there has been a history of complaints about the airline. A total of 115 passengers and six crew were killed in the crash.
In Salonika, a man was arrested on suspicion of creating a hoax with his claim that he received a chilling text message from a passenger on the plane before it crashed.
He has reportedly confessed to fraudulently claiming he received a text message from a cousin on board the flight.
The man told private television Alpha that the text carried the following message: "We're cold. The pilot is blue. We're going to die. Farewell."
If this guy actually perpetrated a hoax in the middle of a tragic occurrence,
I think somebody ought to regularly smack the sick bastard, every day he's in prison and at least weekly after he gets out.
