Ohio Senator George Voinovich, a Republican, questioned Julie Myers qualifications to head Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at a Senate confirmation hearing Thursday. Myers, an assistant U.S. attorney in Brooklyn, said her experience "will serve me well.". Her vast experience includes having worked with Customs and INS agents in the past. Sounds like a lot of experience to me, after all I'm ready to head up the Border Patrol because I report on immigration reform and one time I talked to this guy who was a Border Patrol Agent.

"I'm really concerned about your management experience," Sen. George V. Voinovich, Ohio Republican, told her, pointing out that ICE, with 20,000 employees, is the second-largest investigative agency in the federal government.
"I think that we ought to have a meeting with [Homeland Security Secretary] Mike Chertoff ... to ask him ... why he thinks you're qualified for the job," Mr. Voinovich said. "Because based on your resume, I don't think you are."
At least one Republican Senator seems to have a decent head on his shoulders. What the hell is Bush thinking?
