Elisa Kawasaki, 25, was sentenced to 180 days in the county jail and 5 years probation after pleading no contest in August to one felony count of unlawful sex with a minor. The judge let Kawasaki off the hook in not forcing her to register as a sex offender, a bad decision in my opinion since it is a felony count. Six months also seems a little lenient for a teacher who took advantage of a student.
Kawasaki was arrested in May, 2005 and initial reports suggested that there may have been up to 20 encounters between Kawasaki and the 16-year-old.

Elisa Kawasaki, 25, will also have to give up her teaching credential, attend counseling and stay away from the 17-year-old boy she molested.

No Kawasaki was her married name.. Her name is Elisa Gonzales and she lives in Fresno, CA or Madera I think. My girlfriend has no respect for her because she said that she is a homewrecker as well as a molester is what i hears. I know the kids mother that she offended.

A homewrecker! You mean like the "Human Wrecking Balls" feature on TruTV? Sounds like her case may be a candidate to air on one of those ridiculous reality shows. Jokes aside, it sounds like she was lacking some pertinent needs in her life and was hence motivated to the dark side (no pun intended). It's a shame such actions were devastating career-wise. I actually feel sorry for her, and the kid. Speaking of which, I wonder how the kid (technically now an adult) she molested feels about this.
