An illegal alien from Guatemala kidnapped his former boss's wife and kept her in a shed. After being fired 4 months earlier, Edgar del Cid-Perez, decided he wanted a little payback and decided he'd kidnap the wife and demand $1million ransom. After breaking into the home, striking the wife in the head and tying her up with duct tape he took her to a shed 2 miles away. While making calls to the husband to demand a ransom, the wife escaped by cutting through the tape with a piece of wood for 90 minutes.
Police finally tracked del Cid-Perez down at a house with 12 other illegal aliens in it and arrested him. In an interview from jail del Cid-Perez said "I want them to forgive me, if possible".
There was no word on whether the boss who hired the illegal alien was taken into custody as well (which means he wasn't)
del Cid-Perez now faces 20 years. Which means he no longer has to worry since the American people will be taking care of his housing, health care, education and feeding for the next 2 decades if he doesn't simply get probation or an early release.
America, what a country!

David Maffucci, who joined his wife yesterday, couldn't say whether forgiveness was possible. Karen Maffucci said she remains furious.
"Of course we're angry," she said. "I mean, this was the most horrific thing that anybody can do to you. He took me out of my house, tied me up and I (didn't) know what I was going to do. He wanted to take me away from my family."

David Maffucci, an hour before the jailhouse interview, confirmed he laid off del Cid-Perez after a drought this year slowed business. Maffucci did not mention the lost wages and said he did not remember how he came to hire del Cid-Perez, who worked for the landscaper less than two months.
Sure, right, you don't remember how you came to hire him.
