The Massachusetts House shot down a bill that would have given illegal aliens in-state tuition by a vote of 57-96. I guess these illegal aliens will just have to move with their kids to the other nine states that do support these lawbreaking criminals. These states include: California, Illinois, Kansas, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma Texas, Utah, and Washington.

The 57-96 defeat was a blow to the Democratic leadership in the House, which had pushed for the bill. Earlier in the day House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi, D-Boston, had sent a letter to lawmakers urging them to support the bill.
Moments after the vote, DiMasi said he was disappointed, but said he hadn't pressured lawmakers, calling it a "conscience vote." He said he had promised supporters he would schedule a vote, but left it up to them to round up support.
"It wasn't an issue I was out trying to garner support for," DiMasi said in an interview in his office. "I was fully aware it was an uphill battle."
This is probably a clear case of a "paid for by lobbyists" bill. The fact that Salvatore DiMasi says he introduced it, but didn't go out and try to gain support, points to this. He was probably fulfilling a promise he made to some group that paid him off, though he didn't want to look like a total ass and lose his actual supporters, so he didn't come out and promote it.

Do you know if anyone has filed a discrimination suit in one of those 9 states yet? It seems like a non-resident paying higher tuition to a state like California has plenty of grounds for a lawsuit. Even if they lost in court, I think it would raise public awareness. I'm sure plenty of people would be pissed off if they realized their kid at UCLA pays more than an illegal.
