What better way to show that you like the United States and the country you're fighting so hard to stay in than to show up at rallies and wave the Mexican flag around? About 1000 illegal aliens, and their supporters, rallied at Independence Mall against the House Bill H.R. 4437 that would make it harder for illegal aliens to get into the country and harder for them to stay here if they did manage to get in.
"A Day Without an Immigrant" is a misleading title for their protest. How about "A Day Without Some Illegal Lawbreakers Sucking Down Your Tax Dollars, Services And Driving Down Your Wages"? That would have been a much better title for the rally.
The fact that there's even groups openly wanting illegal immigration and the breaking of our laws to continue should outrage any real American in this country. It should also outrage all the legal immigrants here that went through the steps to get into the country legally. The fact that they want it to be Mexican should alarm you even more. The fact that foreigners are wanting the invasion to continue and planting their flag at their protest rallies is disgusting and an outrage.
This was part of an organized attempt to shut down the restaurant industry on Valentines day by calling on all illegal aliens to walk out of work in the restaurants on one of their busiest days of the year.
I wish it had worked. It would have exposed those restaurant owners that are employing these lawbreakers and would have rewarded the restaurants doing things legally since they would have benefited from increased patronage.

About 1,000 people rallied on Independence Mall today to voice their opposition to proposed federal legislation that would crack down on illegal immigrants; their employers; and churches, charities and other groups that help them.
The protesters, largely Latino immigrants, waved Mexican flags and carried signs that read in Spanish and English, "We are workers, not terrorists," "Reward Work" and "No to H.R. 4437."

Illegal immigrants, who now face deportation if apprehended, would be charged with a felony punishable by prison time. The act also significantly increases financial penalties against employers who hire undocumented workers and would classify groups that assist them, including churches, as "alien smugglers."
"H.R. 4437 shows how much racism is alive and well," said Angel Cordero, of the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey. "Has America lost its mind?"
The Valentine's Day rally was part of "A Day Without an Immigrant," which called on illegal immigrants - particularly Mexicans in the Philadelphia restaurant industry - to stage a one-day work stoppage. The holiday is the second-most-popular day of the year for dining out, according to the Pennsylvania Restaurant Association.
The strike was designed to demonstrate the econonic contribution of undocumented "shadow workers" and to make employers realize that they have a stake in helping to scuttle the Sensenbrenner-King bill, organizers said.
Yes, there is much racism in this country because people want immigrants to go through the proper channels and come here legally. It never fails to amaze me that in this country that has accepted immigrants from every country -- including Mexico -- that we are now being slandered as racists because we don't want people coming to our country illegally. Because we want to know who they are and we want an orderly flow ensuring that we have services in place to handle the increased population and not affect the services available to all legal residents and citizens we are the racists. Yes, we are the devil for wanting this. We are the evil racists for wanting our country's laws to be enforced.
What a bunch of ignorant people. America has "lost our mind" as Angel Cordero so lovingly put it above. We've lost our mind because we have let this catastrophe continue for too long. Now it's getting to the point where if we don't accept the injustice that has been forced upon us then we are the bad ones, not the ones who have chosen to break the law.

Dig, loved your comments regarding the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT protest at Independence Mall. I too was disgusted at the brazen audacity of 1,000 illegal immigrants armed with their Mexican, Ecuadorean flags and a false sense of entitlement shouting and demanding underserved rights and privileges. These people have no respect for the law, nor the rules, norms or customs of the nation they are plundering. God save us all! Please also (if you haven't done so already) contact Sen. Arlen Specter's office to oppose his push for AMNESTY GUESTWORKER status for the current 11 million (some experts say close to 20 milion) illegal aliens in this country.

I am in US legally, one thing what really outrages me is the racists and bigots like you who make idioting statements like the legal foreigners are somehow on their side. Well, we are not. I, citizen of EU country cannot neihter go visits my family nor go to Cancun for weekend because of anti - LEGAL - immagrant legislation, my wife has been 4 years effectively under house arrest ( prohibited to work) . You racist bigot are not on my side! I think you rather would like to see me dead.

How successful was the 2006 ride on DC regarding Immigration ? Curious about this, I found this online.

If successful, I was cuirous if this is going to be done again, if not it should( if effective) - "in as large a scale as possible ".
I am referring to closing the Border, and No or very limited Amnesty to very few "Illegals" in special cases possibly ? No non-citizens without ID, etc. You get the drift. Not a citizen, no benefits, no job, etc.Also if we know of a Illegal Alien, what action can we take? Washingtons makes laws and then "selectively" enforces them.
If you are speeding on your scooter, you can bet the law will enforce that law. They are going to be sure you have license and insurance also. So why are Imigration laws not enforced ? Big Business ??
If you don't support this position, and you ARE A
LEGAL CITIZEN, that is your God given right, so far.
If you are an ILLEGAl reading this, it's not your God-given right. U.S. citizens fought and died for these rights and benefits that belong to U.S. citizens.
This particular instance is turning U.S. Citizens into a 2nd class citizen( at some point), maybe your children, if this continues to progess.

July 4 would have been a good time, too late now.
If we could get multiple Bike Clubs/ from as many states /as many Bikers as possible to "Ride on Washington" with Banners also showing the states we are from, etc. All other bikers also invited, no matter what you ride( 2 wheels).
Maybe , charge a Registration fee and donate the money accordingly , possibly to a Lobbying Group that support this position or to another worthy cause.
Also inviite as many marchers that " are legal U.S. citizens" to march behind the bikes, if they like.The more bodies , the better. if DC has their way Amnesty will be granted. How many votes does this by them , at whose expense ?
If valid, good place to start, throw this idea out into some of the Biker Forums,possibly contact some of the bigger riding clubs ?
I'm not very good at organizing, but ready to ride, do what I can.
I think maybe it's time to do it again,maybe on a bigger scale

I say send all illegal immigrants back they are law breakers.I support arizona 100 percent. All these people who say they like america then wave different flags is a outrage. as a democrat voter i must say i will support any candidate who put forth bill to get rid of all illegal immigrants Democrat or republical they must go NOW

Those Mexicans demonstrating in Philly, if they are ILLEGAL, should be arrested and deported. What the heck is wrong with our government? We have to get rid of people who support this and do nothing about it. They have sworn to uphold the CONSTITUTION of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. FIRE them ALL. WE THE PEOPLE may have to take over their jobs and do it ourselves. Come on you clowns, DO YOUR JOBS. YOU SUCK. I am Hispanic and have no use for those people who come here with no papers. I don't care what their reason or motive. Most of their motive is to TAKE. SCREW them.
