Getting Linked By High Traffic Sites

Most of you bloggers out there wonder how it feels and what are the results of suddenly seeing your traffic numbers jump to 6,000 hits an hour (1.5 hits a second). While it's absolutely thrilling to realize what is going on, what are the real benefits?
