The first National Guard troops arrived to patrol the border. Excuse me while I yawn just a bit, I'm kind of tired of token gestures from those who want amnesty for illegal aliens. I'm sure the conversation before the presidential address on immigration went something along the lines of "How can we appease those who want to actually crack down on illegal aliens by enforcing laws already on the books? Hey, how about we send a few thousand National Guard troops there so we can point out that we're doing all that we can!"
Disgusting! These 50+ troops will remain on the border for a whole 2 weeks as they attempt to help catch the million+ that make it across the border every year. Nothing against the troops, of course, they're just following orders.

More than 50 National Guard troops have arrived in Arizona to begin their new mission along the Mexican border, the first troops to deploy under President Bush's plan to crack down on illegal immigration.
The roughly 55 Utah National Guard members were expected Monday to begin extending fences, improving roads and working on border lighting near this city, located 25 miles south of Yuma, home of the nation's busiest U.S. Border Patrol station.
BTW have I said "F You!" to President Bush lately? Well now I have.

Yes, this is just window dressing. Until the federal government cracks down hard on employers of illegals the invasion will continue unabaited.
