Many of you out there may not be aware of Sara A. Carter, a Staff Writer for the
Inland Valley Daily Bulletin in California. Sara has been at the forefront of immigration reporting in the state and really has been a hero to myself and many others out there who have covered or read stories she has reported on.
Reporting on immigration may not seem like such a hard job, no harder than any other reporting you may think, but the reality of doing so in California along the border takes courage. You are directly threatening the welfare of many illegal aliens and their supporters who make millions each year off of this lawbreaking. You are in effect taking on a sort of "Mexican Mafia" in effect that has a lot at stake in benefiting from illegal activity. On top of this you are directly threatening the number one source of revenue for Mexico in the form of "remittances", or monies, sent back from illegal workers here in the United States. Whenever you threaten someones livelihood you already run the risk of a nut or two actually attacking you.
As other immigration reporters will tell you, such as Michelle Malkin and I myself know, you regularly are threatened and receive hate mail that is unimaginable for covering this topic. Not only things like "you are a racist", but you get the idea.
Very few times do you receive any mail from those who agree with you. They may agree, but they never take the time to actually send out a "thank you", a "good job" or a "we support you".
So, I'm calling on all of you to take the minute or two it takes to send Sara A. Carter a thank you email really quick letting her know that her work is appreciated.
Email her at: sara.carter@dailybulletin.com
And thank you for taking action on this and giving her the appreciation she deserves..
