Who couldn't like
Audrey Hepburn?
Man or woman, you have to agree that Audrey was simply adorable and glamorous at the same time. Her big dark doe eyes, dark eyebrows, a small round face and thin neck made up an image that you couldn't turn away from. Her body was made for fashion as well, with a thin figure that looked great in both a gown or everyday clothes. She set trends from hairstyles to dress.
Audrey's image on the poster for Breakfast at Tiffany's became an icon and when she was on the screen she simply owned it.
Recently Gap took Audrey and put her in a commercial dancing around (see the video in the extended entry). I have to say I loved the commercial, though some found it exploitative of her.
Later on in her life Audrey worked tirelessly in children's programs and through UNICEF which just shows that she was as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. There is an Audrey Hepburn Memorial Fund at UNICEF.
Audrey Hepburn died on 20 January, 1993 in Tolochenaz, Switzerland of colon cancer. The world truly lost a beautiful soul that day.
I've always had a thing for Audrey and with the recent commercial I got a chance to introduce and explain to my kids who Audrey Hepburn was.
