Mexico says that if it determines that Border Patrol agents did cross into Mexico on November 9th while chasing two drug smugglers, that it will seek extradition of those agents for prosecution.
El Paso Sector Border Patrol Chief Robert W. Gilbert has said that agents went "no more than 25 feet across the border".
I find this absolutely outrageous. Mexico has done almost nothing to combat drug trafficking and illegal immigration along our southern border and now they have the absolute arrogance to seek extradition of our law enforcement personnel because they took a few steps across the border?
We have been dealing with Mexican law enforcement incursions over our border for decades. Over 200 incidents in the past 10 years! Our agents have received hundreds of rounds of fire from across the Mexican border. Mexico threatened to sue when we deployed National Guard troops to our border and to take our passing of a border fence initiative to the UN. The Mexican Consulate threatened the Minuteman Project. Snipers in Mexico have been shooting at Border Patrol agents. Plots uncovered to kidnap and kill FBI agents. And they've even threatened to block Arizona's Proposition 200 - passed by the voters - in the International courts.

Mexican law enforcement and government officials say they are upset at several Border Patrol Agents for allegedly crossing into Mexican territory to stop drug smugglers.
...
Mexican authorities say if they determine US agents did cross the border, they will then file a petition in international court to extradite the agents to face criminal charges.
I've about had it with our southern neighbor. They are no friend of ours and in addition to allowing our laws to be flaunted have stuck their nose into our political system time and time again. People in America need to wake up and start demanding that something be done.
This Mexico is not the smiling guy wearing a sombrero and offering you a taco and some nice music like a lot of people seem to picture when they think of Mexico. This is a thieving despicable government who foists its problems on America and demands that we handle them and pays off our politicians through heavy lobbying and "consuls".
I would have no problem with this action if it was from a country that wasn't actually a corrupt nation and respected our laws, but this is not the case.
It needs to stop and it needs to stop now!
Yes. You are right. I sincerely apologize.
I just setup my blog this week and I have been trying to figure-out a way to get people to at least take one look at it.
Thanks for your gentle admonishment.
BTW, you have a great blog.

"...condemning that authorities from other countries enter a national territory without respect for sovereignty."
Well, if that is not the pot calling the kettle black. Amazing... At least our agents did not settle down in their country and defy deportation...
Consider them undocumented workers and feel lucky they immediately returned home, as opposed to some of Mexico's fleeing citizens.
