Brian Bilbray remains in the seat vacated by criminal Randall "Duke" Cuningham - California's 50th district - with over 53% of the vote. What took Mrs. "illegal aliens can vote" so long to concede? That's what some people were asking...

"What took her so long?" said UC San Diego political scientist and congressional election specialist Gary Jacobson asked.

Reached by phone in Washington on Tuesday, Bilbray said he believes that voter frustration about immigration was what swayed the election.
"Every time a North County housewife drove down the street, she saw illegal aliens on the corner," Bilbray said. "When you talk about national security, at least in San Diego County, people tend to look south, not at Iraq."

"And all (Republicans) talked about was immigration," Busby said of the ads targeting her.
Asked to comment on Busby's concession, Bilbray said it was "nice to have one more constituent to represent."
All they talked about was illegal immigration because it's a real problem Mrs. Busby and you seem to not have realized that and thought relying on a general hatred of the Bush administration would carry you to power with no effort on your part to address your contituents demands. So you deserved to lose. Just one more confirmation that illegal immigration was not a losing issue in this election as some would have you believe.
