Remember those Columbia University students who rushed James Gilchrist on stage at Columbia University last year? Well if not you can see the video below. They were handed their punishment, which was described by one student as a "slap on the wrist". I look at it as "encouragement to do it again".
Columbia Spectator
A number of students who rushed the stage during Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist's Oct. 4 speech at Columbia received letters yesterday informing them that they would be punished with "disciplinary warnings" for their conduct at the event.
"It's a light punishment, it's a slap on the wrist," Monique Dols, GS, who was given a disciplinary warning, said. "It's a victory for free speech and anti-racism."
First of all speaking out against illegal immigration isn't racism. Now if he would have gotten up there and started calling for the heads of Hispanics that's one thing, but he wasn't. Secondly, how is this a victory for free speech? They shut down his right to free speech.
Utter hypocrisy, lies and ridiculousness all around from both the students and the staff at Columbia University.
