Yesterday I mentioned a protest being held in Philadelphia where Cardinal Roger Mahony would be at an immigration event at the National Constitution Center downtown.
I have gotten word from Stop The Invasion of one of the questions that Cardinal Mahony was asked by an audience member.
During the question and answer period at the above forum, the moderator asked Cardinal Mahony a question submitted by a member of the audience.
The question: Since the 7th Commandment says "Thou Shalt Not Steal", doesn't smuggling, identity theft, breaking and entering and fraud come under this commandment. Doesn't this apply to illegal aliens?
The moderator then gave Cardinal Mahony a chance to think about his answer. He smiled and answered, "No", to some laughter from the 99% pro-illegal alien audience. Cardinal Mahony said that the commandments are about "Thou Shalt Not" and went on to explain his approach.
How the hell is smuggling, identity theft, breaking and entering and fraud not stealing? This "Cardinal" needs to have his big old cap removed. Even Jesus would have admitted that things like that were against the commandments. For him to outright deny that shows his lack of moral fiber.
I can understand helping the poor, but helping and encouraging the poor to break laws, avoid law enforcement and just generally ignore the law? As a Cardinal of the Catholic Church that is just ridiculous! This is someone who is supposed to set an example of piousness and not sinning.
Look, I can rant and rave all I want about this guy, but about the only thing I can do is attempt to get him arrested and thrown in jail for aiding and abetting illegal aliens. You Catholics out there need to get a little outraged at this total ignoring of the laws by one of your leaders.
You know how illegal aliens have had a negative impact on Hispanics in this country (and don't deny it, it has tarnished the good name of legal Hispanics and Hispanic citizens in this country)? Well this ass is damaging the credibility of every Catholic person out there. Every time this guy speaks about encouraging breaking the law someone out there comes to the conclusion that all Catholics are in favor of illegal aliens and breaking the law. It's just a fact of hearing the same thing repeated by a person whose obvious main trait is being Catholic.
I'd suggest you start demanding that this stop before this bad name spreads too far and too wide and paint you all in a bad light.
Cardinal Mahoney and the US Conf of Catholic Bishops are alienating lifelong Catholics who have a strong foundation fo faith and who know right from wrong.
A few quick points in reference to several comments on these blog pages about immigration, respect and human dignity:
1. Here is a good link as to why ILLEGAL aliens do not deserve dignity and respect:

2. Here is what Judge Moore has to say about Immigration and Christian Duty:

Most Christians know that it is SINFUL to steal, cheat and lie. Heres a comment posted today: "The proper path to address illegal aliens is the Ten Commandments itself. While we hear scripture being quoted about "welcoming the stranger" and "serving those before us", many religious leaders are ignoring the Ten Commandments.. the very foundation of the Christian religions they portend to represent. It is sinful and wrong to steal, cheat and lie just because you want to improve your economic circumstances. That includes breaking into our country; identify theft; accessing social services, health care and schooling; lying on forms and applications, using Medicaid cards of relatives, getting paid "under the table" with no payroll taxes, and having anchor babies to steal citizenship. Those with a developed conscience knows these things are wrong and do not arrogantly flaunt their demands. They do the right thing and follow the rules. Let the Ten Commandments be your guide. Perhaps we need to send President Bush and Cardinal Mahoney a copy."
3. The overwhelming majority of American do not support the amnesty bill and it is not just "conservatives". Today's Democratic poll, reported by James Carville found that "Voters were far more likely to support proposals that would tighten the border and stop illegal immigrants from getting government benefits than efforts to legalize the estimated 12 million people living in the country illegally"

4. Regarding the woman who has a sham landscaping business that employees 60 immigrants (along on this week’s Dream ride): She says she is worried that without this bill passing, that she will likely have to close the business and become unable to pass this business on to her sons. Is she kidding? The only employers who want to pass this bill are those that knowingly hire ILLEGAL ALIENS, not IMMIGRANTS. Those that hire legal workers have nothing to fear. These businesses should be shut down. Shame on this woman who pretends to be a Christian. If you can not hire legal workers, you should not be in business. Many of the so-called jobs that have been "growing the economy" are by employers like this who exploit people for their personal gain, not out of their compassion for their fellow man. These are the very businesses that have enabled this crisis to fester and grow by their lack of integrity or concern for Americans. We are tired of hypocrites who refuse to acknowledge right and wrong.
