57-Year-Old Woman Killed By Drunk Driving Illegal Alien In LA County

Bookmark and Share

A 57-year-old woman was killed after being involved in a traffic accident caused by a speeding, drunk illegal alien. The accident occurred at the border of Carson and Harbor City in Los Angeles County. The 29-year-old illegal alien walked away with minor injuries. The 57-year-old woman died later at a hospital and a 27-year-old woman was injured.

A 57-year-old woman was killed in a pileup caused by a drunken, unlicensed driver who was carrying fraudulent immigration and identification documents, authorities said.

...

A 29-year-old man in a 2000 Mazda was speeding and unable to stop in time for stopped traffic ahead of him, [California Highway Patrol Officer David Porter] said.

The Mazda rear-ended a 1990 Honda, being driven by a Harbor City woman, which forced her vehicle into a 2003 Nissan in front of her, Porter said.

The 2003 Nissan, in turn, struck a 1997 Nissan in front of it, which then struck a 1993 Toyota, he said.

A 27-year-old woman driving the 2003 Nissan complained of neck and back pain, but it was unclear whether she was hospitalized. The woman's 2 and 5-year-old boys in the vehicle were not injured, Porter said.

The woman from Harbor City whose vehicle was initially struck, was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, Porter said. Her name was withheld.

The 29-year-old man who caused the accident was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, Porter said, adding that he was unlicensed and had no proof of insurance. He may also be charged with providing fraudulent immigration and California identification documents, Porter said.

I guess this is just another fatality that the American people are expected to put up with because our government refuses to enforce immigration law. Los Angeles in particular has declared itself a "Sanctuary City" and actively encourages illegal aliens to come there. This death also can be placed at the feet of the Catholic church and especially Cardinal Roger Mahony who has actively worked to keep people like this illegal alien in the country.

Our hearts go out to this woman's family and to all the other families of victims of illegal aliens.

And then there's this asshole commenting at Freedom Folks

kinda works both ways though cowboy…..if the womans family never invaded this country to begin with…..and if her relatives stayed on their continent and tried to fix their government instead of running away to invade this guys continent. This could have been 100% preventable. ... Now, the suffering this family is going to endure is exacerbated by people like you, who refuse to give this guys a temporary work visa or license.

Things like this will continue to happen as long as people like you stand in the way of doing what is right.

By this logic, giving this illegal alien a temporary work visa and driver's license and back rubs would have prevented him from driving drunk. The fact of the matter is that our porous border allows people like this illegal alien to waltz into our country. This illegal alien is the low hanging fruit that we don't want in our country. We don't want people like this illegal alien in our country whether it's illegally or under a temporary work visa.

Trying to place the blame of this woman's death on those who want to prevent people like this criminal illegal alien from being here is the height of absurdity.

Your post creates some controversy in my mind. I agree that this act was heinous and a true tragedy, but how often do these situations occur? If your strict immigration feelings were established with this act, I would argue you are being a little too judgmental. Yes, I realize it's one less life, but accidents happen and regardless of the man's race it was a bad incident. I do, however, think that a system for immigration should be established because the current immigration policies do not seem effective. This, too, is a difficult decision for me; I believe people should have a fair chance to enter our country and help our society, but also, if they are just exhausting our healthcare and ultimately doing damage this is not the best idea. My only other thought is that, although most argue that they want immigrants who will help our country, there are plenty of Americans who are probably not contributing to society, so should they not be allowed? Don't concentrate on race because we're all intertwined somehow.

I agree that this act was heinous and a true tragedy, but how often do these situations occur?

Studies have found that on average this happens 12-25 times a day involving illegal aliens in the United States.

Are you going to start counting all the lives saved by illegal aliens who serve in the medical industry in some capacity?

Sarah,

I don't think he is being very judgmental. Did you read the same article I just read? Yes, car accidents happen all the time, but the point is someone was killed. This illegal immigrant has not only not gone through the proper chances to legalize himself, but he has decided to disregard traffic laws as well. Seems like a pattern to me. Maybe I'm being harsh? Maybe not?
