Save Our State, San Diego Minuteman Project, Gilchrist's Minutemen and F.I.R.E. will be holding a joint protest against the sanctuary church of Saint Luke's that actively harbors, aids and abets illegal aliens and encourages other churches to follow suit in the so called "Sanctuary Movement".
Protest Location:
St. Luke's Episcopal Church
525 East Seventh Street
Long Beach, CA 90813-4503
Time and Date:
Saturday, July 28th
10am until noon
This church is a direct example of what is wrong regarding the Catholic church and meddling in immigration policy. There is only one reason that these churches are doing this and it's not humanitarian... it's for the money. If the church truly cared they would encourage illegal aliens to go back to their country rather than to be taken advantage of and put into dangerous working conditions by unscrupulous employers. So in reality they are doing this for their own greed and sacrificing illegal aliens for it.
There is such a thing as separation of church and state and this church has crossed the line and should have their tax exempt status revoked immediately.
If you are in the Long Beach area and can make it out there please do so. It's fine to complain about these outrages that you see, but if you don't participate and take active steps to end it then it will just continue on.
USA Today:
The [immigration] agents softened when they heard Pablito crying, she says, and gave her a reprieve. They ordered her to report to a detention center five days later to be sent back to Mexico.
Instead, Liliana hid at the home of a Catholic deacon and his wife. Last month she emerged from hiding and took up residence at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, which has pledged to protect her from deportation.
St. Luke's and Liliana are central characters in the New Sanctuary Movement, a small but growing coalition of churches, synagogues and other houses of worship that is challenging the immigration system, despite legal risk, as the nation debates how to deal with the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the USA.
