In this day and age you really have to wonder who in this country actually believes in America and who just enjoys all the benefits of this country without contributing or supporting its continued existence. Case in point. A recent Republican debate held by PBS, a group that I continue to lose hope for, though I do enjoy some PBS programming, refused to put the American flag on stage with Republican candidates. They instead opted for a map of the United States made up of pictures of a diverse ethnicity of the peoples who live here. The choice of not putting the flag on stage was rumored to be because the organizers didn't want to offend anybody in the audience
I'd like to remind those who keep shoving this diversity motto down our throats that this country was founded on E Pluribus Unum - or "Out of many, one". These groups continue to try and divide these groups into competing segments of society instead of a group effort to move this country forward. A diverse society is fine, but only if all of those diversities are working towards the same common goal of the future of American and not just what they can take from it for their ethnicity, but not contribute to all. Something that seems to be lost in this day and age of race over culture and society as a whole.

Republican front-runners weren't the only things missing from the presidential debate stage. The American flag was AWOL, too.
The backdrop to the "All-American Presidential Forum," brought to you by Tavis Smiley and PBS, was a map of the United States, superimposed with a checkerboard of multicultural faces.
Rep. Duncan Hunter of California, one of the presidential hopefuls, asked debate organizers to get Old Glory up there, too...
Request denied.
...
Forum organizers also did not return calls seeking comment.

I agree, you've gotta watch those "ethnicities". They're just here to erode the fabric of blah blah blah blah.
Those PBS people didn't put up an American flag. Those guys are eroding the fabric blah blah blah.
This gung-ho patriotism you pray for is the very thing that will keep humanity from being enlightened. You would seem to promote our following blindly this "nation" and criminalize any who disagree with how *we* think the country should function.
One thing you can say for sure about this country is at least we have the *possibility* of keeping puffed up bigots from running the place. We can at least try. These bigots are easy to spot, they love to fight over symbols and catch phrases. They make implications that people who don't look like them are second class. They make bold assertions without any reasonable argument to back them up.
I'm with you pal, we need to keep these losers in their place :)
