Wikipedia's entry on the 1986 amnesty, better known as the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, was apparently put together by open borders advocates and illegal alien supporters. Within the description of the bill is the following piece of garbage, straight from the La Raza playbook.
And realize that as you read this it is stated as absolute fact.
Wikipedia
The Immigration Reform and Control Act had many negative effects on Hispanic Americans. Due to the requirements of the IRCA and fines for illegal employment many employers began to discriminate against Hispanic workers. To reduce the risk of breaking IRCA's sanctions employers would not hire anyone who appeared Hispanic. If hired, wages were lower to compensate employers for the perceived risk of hiring foreigners.
...
Thus, the IRCA's employer sanctions restructured the market for unskilled labor in the U.S., increased discrimination on the basis of legal status, increased discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, and contributed to subcontracting becoming the principal hiring method. Legal Hispanics are now working for lower wages and in bad working conditions "in return of the opportunity to work."
Bald faced lies, all of it! The reason that wages have decreased in positions that legal Hispanics are employed in is because ALL workers in those industries incomes declined in those fields as illegal aliens flooded into the US. It doesn't take a genius to look around and see that indeed Hispanics, both legal residents an American citizens, are still being hired by employers.
Once again the race card is played and the other facts of the case are hidden. They wouldn't want you to know that the wages of white workers and black workers also declined in the construction industry because that wouldn't support their theory that they declined due to outright racism after workplace enforcement was implemented.
Remember to always keep in mind the source of the information you receive. In this case it appears to be coming from a bunch of open borders and illegal alien supporters who are basing all of their claims against immigration enforcement on racism. Other facts be damned!
