Frederick County, Maryland passed a proposal making English the official language of the county.
You may be thinking to yourself "Great! Finally a county doing something for its taxpayers and removing the fiscal burden of reproducing government documents in many languages." Of course you would be wrong.
Portions of the city council decided they wanted to play a little game. Instead of just voting on the proposal they figured they'd strike a little portion of the bill out. That portion includes the part that bars the translation of government documents into other languages.
So these politicians on the county commission decided that they'd like to continue producing documents in many languages and wasting taxpayers money while still trying to appear like they're in favor of making English the official language of Frederick County.
These are shysters and charlatans at their worst.
The changes made the proposal so meaningless that Charles Jenkins - who made the proposal - voted against it.
WBAL
the Board of County Commissioners deleted language proposed by Republican Commissioner Charles Jenkins that would have barred the translation of government documents into other languages.
Jenkins says the resolution has no force of law and doesn't change the status quo.
Nice group of idiots you have there Frederick County, Maryland. It's amazing they get anything done on your behalf. How about actually taking an interest in your future and voting these bums out of office? Or do you like them wasting untold hundreds of thousands and millions of your dollars on ridiculous stuff?
