I'll be attending the second rally against illegal immigration in Lakewood, N.J. tomorrow and I hope that you can join me. The rally has been put together by Diane Reaves. I attended the first rally and you can read all about it at my entry "Lakewood New Jersey Immigration Rally"
This rally will be special with the likes of Joey Vento of Geno's Steaks and Carmen Morales of You Don't Speak For Me attending. Ruth Miller of Illegal Protest is also scheduled to speak and the band Poker Face will be playing live. There will also be a bake sale.
It looks to be a beautiful day so try to make it if you can. Diane does a great job at presentation as can be seen in the photos of the last rally held there.
Here are the details on the rally.
Date and Time:
Saturday, May 24th, from 12 pm until 2:30 pm

If you don't want to sit at the picnic tables which are located in the park area; please bring your own chairs to sit in.

Everyone will be checked before having access to the event; if you do try to enter the event with same items; you will be asked to either put them away in your vehicle, or to leave the event.
Also, special thanks go out to our amazing Lakewood Police Officers; the Lakewood Chief of Police, Chief Lawson, our Ocean County Sheriff's department; the Canine Unit, and all others who will be personally involved on Saturday. Without them, it just wouldn't be the same. Thanks to each of them for all they do; more grateful, I couldn't be!!! God Bless our men and women in blue!!
The event will be video taped and will be aired on You Tube.
I received a personal call from Senator Sweeny's office offering their apologies for not being able to speak at the Rally. It was great to receive an actual call from them. Also, Mayor Lou Barletta was very sorry he could not attend in person, and stated he would be sending a personal letter, (hopefully in time for Saturday) which I could read at the Rally to show his support to each of us and all we are trying to do.
I look forward to seeing you all there on Saturday; please bring a friend with you; bring two! Drive safe and lets make this a great event!
