It was a cold and windy day as Save Shenandoah held their first ever rally over the weekend. I was shivering quite a bit, but we were blessed with no rain. On October 18, 2008 members of the community gathered to hear information on how they can take back their town from crime, drugs and illegal immigration. This rally was nowhere as large as the 600 that showed up for the August 30, 2008 Shenandoah rally that was held by Voice of the People USA. I've seen smaller though and for a group that didn't exist just a few weeks ago I'd say it shows that there is still an interest in the community no matter what anyone says.
Talking to a few attendees after the rally they expressed that they were very concerned about their community and wanted to help do something to save it.
Speakers at this event - which was organized by Joe Miller, a local resident and a Founder of Save Shenandoah - included:
Wendi Medashefski of Voice of the People USA and PAPundits
Ruth Miller of Illegal Protest
Joe Miller (No relation) of Save Shenandoah
Dan Amato, me.
Also Patriot Maggie spoke (you may remember her from the assault and restriction of her free speech at a church recently).
Save Shenandoah is trying to get their Crime Watch through the City Council on October 20 and it was discussed along with 287(g) training for their local law enforcement, encouragement to get businesses in the area to use E-Verify and general information on immigration and the threats of terror from along our porous borders.
Below are the videos of all of the speeches.
