In an effort to hide their agenda, the website for Barack Obama -
Change.gov which touts itself ridiculously as being part of the "Office of the President-Elect" which doesn't actually exist - has apparently removed a whole host of agenda items. Included in this was their
agenda on immigration, which I was planning on posting an article about, but when I went back today it was mysteriously deleted. It seems that the website has lived up to the name of "Change".
This has been noted by other bloggers who have been attacked recently such as Death By A Thousand Paper Cuts who were accused of spreading misinformation because they reported on an agenda item on required community service on change.gov only to have the aObama team change their website later without a mention to the previous stance.
I have managed to grab a screenshot of the immigration page prior to it's deletion and you can click the image at right to see a full version of the page.
Here is what the page said prior to deletion:

Plan for Immigration
“The time to fix our broken immigration system is now… We need stronger enforcement on the border and at the workplace… But for reform to work, we also must respond to what pulls people to America… Where we can reunite families, we should. Where we can bring in more foreign-born workers with the skills our economy needs, we should”
- Barack Obama, Statement on U.S. Senate Floor, May 23, 2007
The Problem
Undocumented population is exploding: The number of undocumented immigrants in the country has increased more than 40 percent since 2000. Every year, more than a half-million people come illegally or illegally overstay their visas.
Immigration bureaucracy is broken: The immigration bureaucracy is broken and overwhelmed, forcing legal immigrants to wait years for applications.
Immigration raids are ineffective: Despite a sevenfold increase in recent years, immigration raids only netted 3,600 arrests in 2006 and have placed all the burdens of a broken system onto immigrant families.
Barack Obama and Joe Biden's Plan
Create Secure Borders
Obama and Biden want to preserve the integrity of our borders. They support additional personnel, infrastructure and technology on the border and at our ports of entry.
Improve Our Immigration System
Obama and Biden believe we must fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy and increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers cannot fill.
Remove Incentives to Enter Illegally
Obama and Biden will remove incentives to enter the country illegally by cracking down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants.
Bring People Out of the Shadows
Obama and Biden support a system that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.
Work with Mexico
Obama and Biden believe we need to do more to promote economic development in Mexico to decrease illegal immigration.
---
It should be noted that it is more than 1 million illegal aliens entering our country every year and I'd even venture to guess that it is much more, probably closer to 1.5 - 2 million. His stance is that legal immigration is to "keep families together", with a secondary thought to maybe bringing in some workers. That is not why we have immigration! We have immigration for the benefits of the United States, not for the benefits of the immigrants and their families.
And of course his outright amnesty in the "bring people out of the shadows" section. Illegals can stay here, pay a fine, learn some English and "go to the back of the line". By the "back of the line" they mean they can remain here in the US, while those waiting to enter the US legally - sometimes for decades - have to remain in their home countries.
There is nothing "back of the line" about it. Illegal aliens can stay here as if they haven't broken any laws at all by just paying a little fee and vowing that "some day" they'll pick up a little English. An amnesty for illegal aliens.
The fact that all of the agenda items that you see at the bottom in the screenshot have been deleted shows that this administration will be no different than others we've had in the past. No solid convictions or principles in the general American citizen's interests and a whole lot of secrecy and double talk.
If they believed in these things they wouldn't have deleted them and any changes they made to them would be clear and noted. But that isn't the case now is it?
