Two illegal aliens from Honduras, Jaime Discua and Jose Cristobal Discua, were busted at the Schuylkill Mall in Schuylkill County, PA just outside of Shenandoah, PA on Saturday, February 7, 2009. They were busted by the drug task force for dealing cocaine and they had brought a 3 and 6-year-old with them for the deal.
Jose Discua is no stranger to the local police and the public file for him in the area shows that he has been sited at least 6 times times since 2004. in March 2004 he was ticketed for unregistered vehicle. Two months later In May 2004, he was charged with operating a vehicle without "financial resp" (not sure what this is, but probably still didn't register the vehicle). In March 2005 he was charged with harassment. In February 2006 he was charged with failed inspection and also with no license. And finally in November 2007 he was sited for a rubbish violation. In all this time there were no flags raised that he was in the country illegally. Even with all the activity on him run through the Department of Motor Vehicles, the issuer of identification in the state of Pennsylvania. It's just amazing that he was left in this country to continue his drug dealing and criminal behavior.
Not only are these two in the country illegally and dealing drugs, but on top of this are additional costs to the taxpayers that most would ignore.
First, is the costs of the drug task force personnel themselves to crack down on these illegals dealing drugs that are above and beyond those already dealing drugs in this country. Second, the cost of now housing these two in the jail system. Third, the court costs involved in prosecuting them. Fourth, the cost of the interpreters for them. Fifth, the costs of now housing, feeding and taking care of the kids that were turned over to Children & Youth Services. Sixth, if actually deported, the costs of expelling them from the country. And of course seventh, the cost of apprehending them again when they recross the border and go back to dealing drugs in this country once they are released.
Of course there's also no way to factor in the costs that the drugs they have dealt have impacted those who have bought and used them.
I can't tell you the sum total of cost to the taxpayers for all of that mentioned above, but if you multiply these numbers to the total of similar stories found daily throughout this country it is massive. And to think, some in this country actually believe that illegal aliens contribute more than they cost society. Give me a break.
