I couldn't agree with you more, Digger. The only reason I have an opinion on Ms. Obama is because I'm so baffled by the glamour circuit's inappropriate attention to her.

I find her an average to above average looking 40-something woman. She has an intelligent look that makes her somewhat attractive, I guess. Attractive in the sense that I could see her in a commercial promoting life insurance or some other "responsible adult" type product. Maybe playing the role of a successful, respected lawyer on a tele-drama. I could not see her selling a glamour product, sexualizing some otherwise mundane product (like beer, chips, etc), playing the role of a forbidden love interest in a film, etc.

I read your post and I 100% disagree with you. I do not find black women to be in a class of beauty all by themselves, nor do I find that white women or latino or asain women do.
I don't think that God has bestowed some form greatness upon the black woman, If it were so the men would be chasing them only (and you know that they don't) There are many beautiful women in the world of ALL races not only one!
However with that being said,I myself and everyone that I know doesn't feel that Michelle Obama is one of them. You just have bad taste and can't appreciate beauty, simply. She has some very nice features. Nice skin, nose, teeth/smile. But most of all, it's her size that is beautiful. She's quite tall and has strong, well shaped shoulders and arms.

Size in a woman is very underrated by north american men because of the fashion and tradition that skinny is best. You've simply been brain washed into having this taste. However, 90% of the world appreciates a tall, strong woman. Even if she has some disproportionate features (jaw as you said) she is still beautiful because of her good features.

Why if someone has a negative opinion about someone of a different race does it have to automatically become a racist opinion? I'm white and a global studies major in school right now and I honestly appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of every culture. Secondly, Bush is the one who gave tax cuts to the wealthy, not Obama. As a matter of fact, Obama sought to let those tax cuts expire (which would have increased his own taxes), but had to relent because Republicans threw a big hissy fit. And jobs? You think big business Republicans are taking jobs away from the horrible illegals to give them back to hard-working Americans? No, they're being outsourced.

And to Digger: I'm sorry you've chosen Michelle Obama to pick on, and not any of the slew of other first ladies who've filled this exact same place in media/ pop culture (Abigail Adams, Dolley Madison, Eleanore Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy, to name a few). First ladies have always had their place in history for one reason or another, and while I agree that Michelle isn't supermodel gorgeous, she's definitely more attractive than any first lady since Jackie Kennedy. Now I know it's difficult, but stop yourself before you accuse me of comparing Michelle O to Jackie O, because I'm not. The point I'm trying to make is that no first lady since Jackie Kennedy has been even remotely fashion-worthy, and though it's a stretch, some think Michelle is. I get it, the media is playing her up and you're just reacting. Why not post an article the next time CNN decides to run a 10 minute clip on Charlie Sheen's latest drunken debacle? Because this is a political blog... I get it.

Apparently you're so incensed by the fact that a Democrat has gained a measure of celebrity that you have decided to pounce on her agenda as well, as if she's trying to use all of this attention to further some hidden Communist motive (Democrat and Communist in the same sentence... never seen that before). As a black woman myself, I can tell you that many of us don't find her attractive either and many said as much before the media blitz. The problem is now there is this attitude that white women are out to get so you won't hear a bad word about her now. I find it nerve wrecking because I think it's condescending to keep hyping her up in this manner why not just focus on the fact that she's smart? Something that is true. Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Toni Braxton, etc are all examples of beautiful, non mixed looking women in her age group.

Firstly you are racist, and the people agreeing with you are racist...you're just very good at hiding it. And honestly it isn't her face or her clothing that bothers you, its the fact that she's black. because anyone with half a brain would see that she is very fashionable and a great role model for ALL women not just black women. If half the women in this world had the same poise and professionalism that Michelle Obama exudes from her being, we wouldn't have gender inequality issues. Also she does a lot of good, and just cause she isn't playing the submissive and pliable wife in the background figure that America has become so used to *coughcoughLaurabushcoughcough* doesn't make her a media whore. She's active, and passionate and looking to make good change. The first lady isn't just a title its a responsibility and it comes with a lot of power, and that power can be amplified by using it properly. I think that she(Michelle Obama) is an attractive woman. She also exudes a certain sexiness about her. I am not an American, and by the way she has a very sexy butt. It is not only her looks, but the aire of sophistication that she carries, while at the same time having the appeal of being down to earth and approachable. I have to disagree. Michelle looks great and money can make you look even better and that is what happen with her. She has great style to me. She is the best looking first lady I ever seen! All the other first ladies look like old dried up prunes. A lesson to be learn....keep your youthful look!

Being from Native American ancestry as well as Caucasion I feel that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Racism can play a factor in all races when beauty is in question. I don't find Michelle to be beautiful but more healthy and fit. Yes we all look great with makeup but real beauty needs no makeup and Michelle apparantly feels that she needs a makeup person, a hair stylist, and fashion specialist to attend to her in every aspect of her present role as First Lady. I do believe she struggles with her feelings of the US being emperialist and that our country is a mean and hateful country. Since her travels abroad maybe she has had the opportunity to see that the USA is an amazing country which allows everyone the opportunity to aspire to greatness just like her husband has had the opportunity to hold the highest position of the land. How he will be remembered will be entirely up to him.

I'm about sick of the media's attempts to make Nancy Reagan out to be some world trend setter or some overly attractive woman. I find her fashion sense unappealing to her body shape and size and I don't particularly find her attractive in any way. There it has been said. Something that it seems many are afraid to state openly for fear of being called a ageist. As with immigration, this as well has nothing to do with race and everything to do with lies.
