A representative "of the people".
Congressman Pete Stark (D-CA) held a town hall meeting and actually had the gall to respond to a constituent's question... a voter... an American... someone he supposedly represents... an elderly gentleman... with "I wouldn't dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.".
This is the disdain for the American people that members of congress have been showing for taxpaying Americans for years. I personally don't care if you are a Liberal or a Republican Congressman, if you treat your constituents that way you should immediately be recalled and fired or resign. It is just that unforgiving.
These people, Representative, are supposed to listen to what constituents want on issues and bills and then vote that way, thus representing the people. That is their job. To come back with such a statement is outrageous.
It does seem like this outright disdain for the average taxpaying American is coming more from Democrats than Republicans. Dems seem to have trouble with anyone disagreeing with them, thinking it's due to racism or hate instead of legitimate policy disagreements, but contempt for the taxpayer should not be tolerated.
His constituents are his boss. They pay his salary. If your boss told you that they disagreed with your opinion on how you should spend your money and you responded with "I wouldn't dignify you by peeing on your leg", you would be fired immediately.
Rep Pete Stark: "I wouldn't dignify you by peeing on your leg"
The statement comes about 1:15 minutes into the segment.
Pete Stark needs to go.
