In the first major victory in 2010 for those opposed to amnesty for illegal aliens, bills in New Jersey to give in-state tuition to illegal aliens were shelved after an outpouring of grassroots calls against the measures. With the bills shelved on the last meeting of the legislature for the session, the bills die.
Incoming Governor Chris Christie was opposed to the measures and doesn't see them being revived during his tenure at least through 2014.
Calls streamed into the senate offices in New Jersey as word got out through grassroots via email, websites and social networking.
It is quite simply asinine that anyone would proposed letting illegal aliens go to college at all, whether that is with in-state tuition or with out-of-state tuition. Education is not a right and it certainly isn't a right for those illegally in this country. Every seat in college taken by an illegal alien was a seat stolen from an American citizen or legal resident who followed the laws and proper method of coming to the United States and attending college.
NJ turning conservative? Wow, voters defeat Corzine, Senate rejects Homo marriage, alien tuition withdrawn, but "medical marijuana" approved.
Well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad!
