Pop singer
Shakira made an appearance with Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon in front of a crowd of illegal aliens and their supporters. "I don't know much about the Constitution," Shakira said "But I do know that the Constitution states that every human being living in a country should be protected by the government."
Oh really Ms. Shakira? Out Constitution states that? Where?
Our Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land. It is a set of negative liberties of which the US government cannot infringe on. Nowhere in the Constitution does it state that the US government will take care of every human being living in our country. It's funny that she doesn't mention the rights of the "human beings" called US Citizens that illegal aliens are infringing upon simply by their presence in this country. Every single federal dollar that goes in support of an illegal alien is a dollar stolen from the citizens of this country and given to those who are unlawfully here.
Steal from the lawful, give to the unlawful.
I believe that Ms. Shakira is thinking of the Constitution of the former Soviet Union with her statements, where in a socialist country the government will "take care" of all of its citizens. Funny thing about that though is that even the Soviet Union would not have taken care of a bunch of illegal aliens streaming across its borders, only its citizens.
The crowd before here cheers as she states all of this.
But Shakira had been planning this trip for days. It was announced quite a bit ahead of time. Now I'm not saying she has to be a constitutional scholar, but really? You couldn't take the time to read the Constitution? It truly only takes about 1/2 an hour to read our constitution. And with a brief perusal you'll quickly realize that it has nothing in it about the government giving you tons of stuff or ignoring the law.
Shakira Addresses Illegal Aliens and Their Supporters
And a tribute to Shakira Hips Don't Lie.. haha LOL
Nice that you refer to the law when it is convenient for you.
The law gives them due process right. The right to have their case heard.
The law also states that an illegal alien in the United States shall be deported, whether they have committed a crime or not.
According to your link they have the "right" to go to school in this country, but the fact of the matter is that if they are caught illegally here they may have an equal protection right to go to school, but they also have to be deported. Kinda hard to go to school if you're not in the country.
Civil Rights are rights bestowed on a country to citizens of that country. Your argument is flawed and in no way makes a case that illegal aliens should be allowed to remain in this country, nor reap the benefits thereof.
