Congressman Pete Stark continues his rampage against the American people. His views on what this country should be continues to be exposed. In a recent townhall meeting someone questioned Stark on how demanding that others pay for your healthcare is in the US Constitution. Stark said with conviction that the federal government can basically do whatever the hell it wants, thus insinuating that the citizens have no say. In essence, Pete Stark is saying that the federal government is a dictator.

"The Federal Government can do most anything in this country," Stark said in response.

There are no checks and balances in his mind. The feds are an all powerful being and your chances of stopping it from doing anything is nil.

This is the same congressman who recently said in June 2010 that "The borders are quite secure" and asked a minuteman in the audience "who you gonna kill today?". While you may disagree on the immigration issue - unlikely as poll after poll shows 80+% oppose illegal immigration - Stark has also showed his contempt for an elderly constituent in September 2009 by telling him "I wouldn't dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.".

"How can a disrespectful, slimeball remain in the US House of Representatives?" you may ask. Well the key is called gerrymandering. You see his district has been drawn out into favorable areas who would vote for him. This then counters those who clearly want this man out of office. In essence through the re-districting process they have nullified opposing people's votes by including a ton who rely on Pete Stark's anti-American beliefs. He promises them freebies, in exchange for dictatorial power, and they continue voting for him.

To understand how this works, say you were a congressman and you realized that 10,000 new voters were against you and were planning on voting you out of congress. The easiest way to "put the screws" to them is to simply have your district enlarged or reworked a little into favorable areas where on offsetting number of people who would vote for you reside. The other way is to have your district shrunk a little, or to have a little portion of your district "cut out" which includes a large proportion of those people who are not going to vote for you. That is what a lot of California looks like - and many other states - and certainly California District 13 where Stark sits as you can see in the image above.

Things like gerrymander are just another sign of a corrupt representative and corrupt state legislature. They can't win on their stance and their beliefs, so they rig the system. The real problem is that while districts are a state issue, they impact you and others elsewhere in United states, because people like Pete Stark have a say in how you live your life - and want even more control if they can wrest it from your hands.
