If the situation has gotten to this point (and it HAS!) you need to look into the past to find the answers to today's illegal immigration problem. During the 1970s and '80s, there was a widespread belief that the major benefit associated with hiring illegal alien farm workers and other illegal aliens to perform unskilled jobs was that the employer(s) would save money, would not need to pay insurance for them, would be able to pay them cash "under the table" and would have them do jobs Americans wouldn't want to do...for less. Those who KNOWINGLY hire illegal aliens only (generally) think about how it will economically be good for THEM and their businesses. They are NOT thinking about other implications...only about how it will (if only temporarily) save them money as they know they would HAVE to pay American workers considerably more.

tell that to Mexico, if the illegals here are treated so poorly, then why not go back to their country of origin? Its people like farmers and ranchers and our government that tell us that we should work harder for less money, they may not come out and say it, but the way they conduct themselves says it all, lets face it, Americans can't live off of 6 bucks an hour not solo, they'd have to live with other people, same as the illegals, they live with other illegals, so why do people talk thrash about American people not wanting to make 5 bucks an hour? its okay if you hit rock bottom or if you are 20 years old, but who wants to be 50 years old making 5 bucks an hour? Americans want more for their hard work, and the stubborn employers only care about money, their own money. Look, right now, I'd take a job as long as it was full-time, at minimum wage, I don't care, I'm going to college, I'm 23, I'll make better money soon enough with a degree. Our prices on food aren't that low, paying low wages for workers doesn't seem to prompt anybody to lower the cost of food, heads of lettuce are already $2-3 here in Northern California, and I'm sure the source of this lettuce hires illegals exclusively. I've made slave wages before, 6 bucks an hour, cleaning rooms at a motel, its not like Americans never work for shit wages, its just, they get to a breaking point and revolt in some form, this ain't Mexico, we don't want to live in trash and filth and drink green water and use toilet water to feed our crops, we don't want to live in a super-sized ghetto
