In an outrageous move that will lead to a cost to California taxpayers, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law the California Dream Act yesterday. Current law allows illegal aliens to attend California colleges at the in-state tuition rate, this new bill also allows them to receive private scholarships and is sure to lead to a bill that allows them to receive public scholarships as well. A bill doing just that is already heading through the California legislature and is sure to be signed by Governor Brown if it passes. Not only do things like the Dream Act cost taxpayers lost funds in the form of full tuition rates, they also deny American Citizens a college seat in a university. Now citizens are also competing for scholarships against illegal aliens as well as an actual seat.
Proponents of illegal aliens have been pushing for a Dream Act at the federal level for more than a decade. The federal Dream Act would give illegal aliens an amnesty if they attend college or serve in the military. Their current tactic is to push at the state level to allow illegal aliens to not only attend college, but to do so at the reduced in-state tuition rate. This then gives them bargaining power in not being deported in the future - that is if the Department of Homeland Security ever actually decided to start catching the millions of illegal aliens in our country.

The bill, dubbed the California Dream Act, passed the state Legislature earlier this month and aims at helping illegal immigrants who earned a diploma after attending at least three years of high school in the state.
Enactment of the California measure came three days after opponents of a similar law in Maryland collected enough signatures to force a state referendum seeking its repeal.
"At the end of the day, if we're going to continue as a powerful, equal-opportunity society, we're going to have to invest in our people," Brown, a Democrat, said at the signing ceremony in the library of a Los Angeles community college.
Yes, let us start investing in our people. The American People.
One of the many things that pisses me off about a Dream act on a federal level is this:
We really want our military to be filled up with illegal immigrants who probably have no love for our nation? We want to train them to fight? We want to give them access to military hardware, technology, and information?
What is citizenship in our country worth? I served in the US Army for 5 years and as far as I know I didn't get out of the service with "1 free crime waiver".
Maybe our military will turn out as stellar as that of Mexico.

This is why I am ashamed of living in California. It is becoming like a 3rd World Dumpster, especially the Southern Part where i live. I am looking into living Texas, Colorado or Utah.
